Rules & Regulations (2026-2027)

Any player who is double-rostered on a Tier I (AAA) hockey team while also participating in the Southern Girls Hockey League (SGHL) shall have been limited to a maximum of three (3) goals per game in SGHL competition.Once a dual-rostered AAA player has scored three (3) goals in a game, any additional goals scored by that player shall not be counted toward the game score.Upon an uncounted goal being scored, play shall be stopped immediately, the goal shall be waved off, and a face-off shall take place at center ice.The player may continue to participate fully in the game, including assists, defensive play, and all other aspects of competition, subject to standard SGHL rules.This rule applies to all regular season and playoff games, unless otherwise specified by the SGHL Board.

This amendment is intended to promote competitive balance, player development, and fair play across all SGHL divisions while continuing to allow dual-rostered players to participate meaningfully in league competition.

Enacted by the Southern Girls Hockey League Board of Directors and incorporated into the official SGHL Rulebook.
